How to make it
- Touch the tip of your tongue to the ridge behind your top teeth.
- Let your voice flow out over the sides of your tongue.
- At the end of a word ("feel", "ball"), also lift the back of your tongue slightly — a "dark" l.
Common mistake
Mixing it up with "r" ("right" for "light", "pray" for "play"), or turning a final l into "w" or dropping it ("fee-oo" for "feel").
